Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask before they download Floosy: how automatic tracking works, what happens to your data, and what Plus costs.

The basics

What is Floosy?

Floosy is a money tracker built for Egypt. It reads the SMS your bank, InstaPay and mobile wallet already send you and turns each one into a categorized transaction automatically. On top of that you get voice-note logging, budgets, subscription tracking, spending insights and an honest “Can I afford it?” check.

Is Floosy available on iPhone and Android?

Floosy is live now on the App Store for iPhone. The Android version is coming soon to Google Play.

Which banks and wallets does Floosy work with?

Floosy works with the transaction SMS sent by Egypt’s banks, InstaPay and mobile wallets. If you get a text when you pay by card, send an InstaPay transfer or pay from your wallet, Floosy can read it.

Do I have to type in my expenses?

No. Bank SMS are captured on their own. For cash and anything that doesn’t send a text, you can record a voice note, use the iOS Shortcut from your Home Screen, or type it in manually — all four end up as the same clean, categorized transaction.

Does Floosy understand Arabic?

Yes. Floosy is fully available in Arabic and English, and voice notes understand both Egyptian Arabic and English. One recording can hold several expenses — Floosy splits them into separate transactions with the amount, merchant and category filled in.

What is “Can I afford it?”

Tell Floosy what you want to buy, how much it costs and when you want it. It answers honestly and shows which day-to-day spending to trim to get there. It doesn’t guess at your salary — it works out whether trimming your regular spending can cover it.

Tracking & features

How do I track cash spending?

Cash doesn’t send an SMS, so log it your way: say it in a voice note (“60 for the microbus”), tap the iOS Shortcut on your Home Screen, or type it in. It lands next to your bank transactions, categorized the same way.

What if Floosy misses or miscategorizes a transaction?

Automatic capture depends on the messages your bank sends and the permissions you grant, so now and then a transaction can be missed, delayed or misread. You can edit any transaction directly in the app, and add a missing one with a voice note or manual entry.

How do budgets work in Floosy?

Give any category a monthly budget and watch it fill up in real time as you spend. You see what’s left while you’re adding an expense, so you know where you stand before you overspend, and budgets roll over cleanly each month. Floosy Plus unlocks unlimited budgets and categories.

Can Floosy track subscriptions like Netflix and Spotify?

Yes, with Floosy Plus. Floosy spots recurring charges in your bank SMS, shows your monthly and yearly subscription cost in one place, and reminds you before each renewal while you can still cancel.

What insights does Floosy show?

Floosy shows where your money actually went, by category and by month, without a spreadsheet. Floosy Plus adds advanced insights and reports.

Can I use Floosy on more than one device?

Yes. Your account syncs your data across your devices, and it’s restored if you reinstall the app.

Privacy & security

Does Floosy need my bank login?

No. Floosy never asks for your bank username or password and never connects to your bank account. It only reads the transaction notifications your bank already sends to your phone.

Can Floosy read my personal messages?

No. Floosy only looks at messages from financial senders. Personal messages from friends, family or anyone else are never read, stored or sent anywhere. From a bank message, Floosy keeps only the amount, merchant and date and discards the rest.

Is my financial data safe?

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and as much processing as possible happens on your device. We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use your transactions to target you with ads.

Is Floosy always listening?

No. Floosy only records while you are actively using the voice feature. Recordings are used to pull out your transactions and are not used to identify you.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete your account from inside the app, which removes your personal data. You can also revoke SMS, notification and microphone access at any time in your phone’s settings.

Is Floosy a bank? Can it move my money?

No. Floosy is a tracking tool, not a bank. It doesn’t hold or move money and doesn’t connect to your bank account — it only reads the notifications you already receive. It also isn’t financial advice: the numbers are there to help you understand your own spending.

Does Floosy see my card number?

No. Floosy Plus is paid through the App Store or Google Play, so we only receive your subscription status. We never see or store your card number.

How old do I need to be to use Floosy?

You need to be at least 16 years old to use Floosy.

Pricing & Floosy Plus

Is Floosy free?

Yes. Automatic bank SMS capture is free forever, along with your balance, activity and categories, plus a monthly allowance of voice notes and affordability checks. Floosy Plus unlocks the rest.

How much does Floosy Plus cost?

Floosy Plus is EGP 70 a month, or EGP 500 a year — about EGP 42 a month, saving 40%. It starts with a 7-day free trial and adds unlimited budgets and categories, subscription tracking with renewal reminders, advanced insights, and more voice notes and affordability checks.

How do I cancel Floosy Plus?

Cancel any time from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next renewal. If you cancel during the free trial, you won’t be charged.

Can I get a refund for Floosy Plus?

Payments go through the App Store or Google Play. Except where the law or the store’s own policy requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds for partial periods. If you think you were charged by mistake, you can request a refund from Apple or Google under their policies.

Will the price of Floosy Plus change?

Prices are always shown in the app before you buy. If a price ever changes, it only applies to future billing periods — never the one you’ve already paid for.
